The Vallbo Foundation has awarded a fellowship to a student of the Universidad Nacional de Colombia for a project that will analyze the effects of plant extracts on the intestine and the productive parameters in broilers.

The work will be carried out on a farm located in Piedecuesta (Santander, Colombia) and will address the study of plant extracts as a natural alternative to antibiotics in poultry production. In this sense, the mechanisms of action of plant extracts on indicators of intestinal integrity and their impact on productive parameters in broilers will be evaluated.

The project will begin in early September and the results will be published in December 2019.
