Vallbo Foundation: ‘Research on veterinary is vital’, Dr. Jaime Borrell
1 de February de 2019Dr. Jaime Borrell will be the chairperson and founder of Vallbo Foundation which will start working next January 2019 with the aim to promote the research in veterinarian field.
The Vallbo Foundation is a non-profit organization that will be responsible for granting scholarships for veterinary higher education researchers; hand grants to relevant projects related to research in veterinarian and animal production, and grant scholarships for the development of studies related to the evolution of life.
Dr. Jaime Borrell received his doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Zaragoza. He is also member of the Royal Academy of Veterinary Sciences of Spain, the Academy of Veterinary Sciences of Catalonia and the Peruvian Academy of Veterinary Sciences. In addition, in 1984 he founded, together with other partners, the company manufacturer of natural additives, Biovet S.A.
Dr. Borrell has dedicated his professional career to the research and development of products related to the veterinary sector, especially in animal production, looking for new applications to maintain and improve production parameters ensuring animal welfare and food safety.
In addition of his work as a director at Biovet S.A., Dr. Jaime Borrell will now chair this Foundation created with the aim to continue promoting projects aimed at promoting research and development. The institution will enter into operation in January 2019 and, on a quarterly basis, the calls for grants will be announced by area.
